Background Story

Growing up in India Deepak Ballaney a true hospitality veteran is the man behind today’s renowned International Wings Factory aka IWF. An alumni of world’s number one “The Culinary Institute Of America” and soon to be a part of “Columbia University’s” Alumni comes from a middle class family in his native country, He still remembers his childhood days where he was only allowed to indulge in his favorite kind of food which is chicken, on weekends or on special occasions. Since the best considered parts of chicken such as leg, thigh, or breast piece were for the head of the family and the pampered younger ones, he was invariably left with “Wings” and other organs. This is when he developed an utmost liking for chicken wings. Soon there was a time when he would pick on Chicken Wings only leaving the rest in the pot.

Being a chemistry major and working in IBM for a good one year, Deepak never thought that he’ll be able to pursue his dream career in hospitality & culinary arts as his family wanted him to be a doctor or an engineer. But as soon as he got hired as a management trainee at the world famous Taj group of Hotels, a chain of five-star luxury hotels, he found his calling. Long working hours, didn’t feel long enough while he was cooking and serving. He learnt from the best in the industry and his hospitality upbringing took a start here. At Taj he was exposed to world of international flavors and elegance in service. He served high profile dignitaries, corporate and celebs such as Bill Clinton Former President, Atal Bihari Vajpayee former PM of India, Jacques Chirac Former French President, Tatas, Ambanis, Bill Gates and Cindy Crawford to name the few.

He worked very hard to achieve success and got the opportunity to come to America in 2003. To him, America was all about the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, opening a small business in NYC and living an American Dream. Here he developed a unique skill of working on distressed food and beverage outlets to revive their reputation and be more profitable. As it is believed the dreams that are desired from the core of heart, chase the person themselves and that is what happened with Deepak. He was able to save enough money by 2008 to get enrolled in the famous culinary institution and with a strong support from his family, he did it. After schooling, he started saving money by taking up assignments from distressed restaurants that needed help in stabilizing financially. Now the question was would it be possible to continue with the restaurant dream? Fine dining was nowhere near his budget so he narrowed his options and started out with New York style Wings with sauces with global influence.

Was this sudden change to wings just because of his love for them? Off course, but the most pressing matter was the declining quality of wings that were available throughout New York City. Plus, he noticed that the different sauces that he used to make along with wings were absolutely loved by his friends and family. He was working shifts at restaurants to build up some money, where his meals always comprised of wings with newly crafted sauces every day and all his colleagues used to gather up around him for a bite. In 2012, right before Super Bowl 2013 with a strong support from his wife Vidhi Ballaney and his 3 year old good luck charm Jeeya Ballaney, he set up a small hole in a wall shop on Upper East Side. He pumped in every penny he had saved up in his life for this. Since then Deepak has not even thought about that ‘fine dining restaurant’ that once seemed to be the sole purpose of his life and focuses entirely on producing the best wings for the amazing people of New York City. He and his staff work tirelessly to achieve the satisfaction of all his customers and follow the belief that “Guest Is God”. IWF is in its 6th year now and has been able to achieve many milestones like being featured on NBC Channel, Fox News, Tony on NY Show, What’s Eating Harlem show, The New York Times, Daily News, CBS News, First We Feast and Thrillist, Deepak’s life is all about serving the best wings to all his customers with the most heavenly sauces and ensuring the best customer service to all his respectable clients.

Food we serve

WINGS & BONELESS

Our wings, with wings we mean real wings with the bone-in are All Natural (with no added hormones). 99% of time our bone-in wings are Halal, but we always recommend you call /ask and reconfirm. That being said our wings are as close to the top of the line product out there.

We do offer different texture for the wings

Regular = Nice and juicy yet crispy.

Xtra crispy = Crispy Less juicy

Xtra Xtra crispy = Super crispy = Very very dry and no juice left (people who order these come back again and again for these, but again it’s not for everyone.)

*** Please note if you are very particular about your wings being crispy, we recommend you dine-in. Or get wings naked with sauce on the side.

Boneless chicken, is not wings and even worldwide, most likely is never is. Here at IWF we fabricate and make our own boneless from chicken breast and chicken tenders. Our boneless is NOT factory processed meat, NOR is it BREADED. However we use a light batter so that the chicken doesn’t dry. The batter that we use is gluten free too.

So if you are used to enjoying the heavily breaded boneless which they call “Boneless WINGS” then we would recommend stay away from our Boneless.

Our boneless is extremely popular but to enjoy our boneless you have to be open minded and accepting that it is nontraditional.  And you can appreciate the hard labor that goes into making them in-house.

SANDWICHES & BURGERS

All Sandwiches and Burgers come with a small regular fries. You can upgrade to sweet potato fries, add that extra cheese or Bacon for an upcharge.

IWF Glazed Cheese Burger

 IWF stands for “International Wings Factory and NOT “International Wrestling Federation”. Sorry we had to put this one here, as many people come and ask us what does IWF stands for.  This is a 5.5 to  6oz burger 100% Angus beef & American Cheese on a Brioche bun with homemade magic relish mayo dressing spread, salad greens, glaze of any sauce from the menu, tomato and pickles. This burger is done on a pan comes out nice juicy and delicious

B.C.T SANDwICH

Our Bacon Cucumber Ranch and Tomato Sandwich is one of the real crowd pleaser. It is messy as hell, loaded with flavor. This sandwich is made with fried chicken tenders, tossed in Buffalo sauce served on a Brioche, with our relish mayo spread, cucumber, bacon and tomato.

BBQ Chicken Sandwich

BBQ lover’s delight. This sandwich is made with fried chicken tenders, tossed in BBQ sauce served on a Brioche roll, with our relish mayo spread, creamy red cabbage coleslaw, chipotle mayo drizzle, Pepper jack cheese and tomato.

Fire Chicken Sandwich

 Simply Hot and flavorful, This sandwich is made with fried chicken tenders, tossed in our house blended chili sauce and chili oil, served on a Brioche roll, with our relish mayo spread, Cheese and tomato.

Blackened Spiced Chicken Sandwich 

This Cajun spice inspired chicken sandwich is the ONLY non- fried chicken that we serve here. It is served on a Brioche roll, with Chipotle mayo spread, creamy Red cabbage coleslaw, American cheese and Tomato.

Crispy Tilapia Sandwich

This is so popular that we call it “chicken of the sea popular”. This large filet is lightly dredged in our special blend of flour and fried, served on a Brioche roll with Chipotle mayo spread, salad greens, pepper jack cheese and tomato.

Chunky Vegetable burger

Mixed chunky vegetable patty & American Cheese on a Brioche bun with homemade magic relish mayo dressing spread, salad greens, tomato and pickles. This burger is done on a pan comes out nice juicy and delicious. This is a burger where you can see the vegetables you are eating not just another mush.

FRIES & SIDES

Regular fries

These are Skin On fries, layered with More like fresh cut fries, but we don’t cut them on premises. They are brined, so they naturally have salt in them. But we do offer 4 different season blend to enhance their flavor.

Sweet Potato fries

These are awesome platter cut fries, They come out nice and crispy. But if you ask us to make it crispier it might get darker as we cook them longer. Since the sugar content in sweet potato fries changes. We do offer 4 different season blend to enhance their flavor.


Sriracha Hinted Cheesy Fries

These are Skin On fries over some melted Sriracha cheese sauce, layered with more cheese (3 different types) topped hot Sriracha hinted cheese sauce, scallions and southwestern season blend.

Please note: For delivery, we give a 2oz cup of cheese sauce on the side by default. Unless specified to have it topped with cheese sauce. Or just specify in your order “Make it nice and messy”.

Battered Onion rings

These are thick sliced rings from Onions, then batter fried. We do offer 4 different season blend to enhance their flavor.

Cheesy Red Onion rings

These are thick sliced rings from Red Onions, then batter fried. Rest over some melted cheese sauce, layered with more cheese (3 different types) topped hot cheese sauce, scallions and southwestern season blend.

Chipotle Cinnamon Rice and Beans

Simple dish done with elegance with unmatched flavors. Lot of bold flavors. Served in a 8oz cup, enough for one person.


Mac N Mozz

Nothing fancy, but super cheesy bursting with flavor from 4 different cheeses, Cheddar, Monterey Jack, Provolone and a whole LOT of Mozzarella. People can’t have enough of it

Garlic Red Skin Mashed Potato

It is as simple as the name says it. It is homemade, creamy, garlicky and buttery mash and No we don’t serve it with gravy. Served in a 8oz cup, enough for one person.

Battered Mozzarella sticks

Brined and battered stringy goodness served with Marinara sauce.

Vegan Soy Nuggets

These soy nuggets are breaded and deep fried. You can choose any sauce to be quoted on them.

Red Cabbage Creamy Coleslaw

Served in about 5 to 6oz portions generally enough for just one person. It made with brined red cabbage only.


Caesar salad

Served 3 ways : Plain OR topped with Buffalo Chicken chunks OR Fried Tilapia. Romaine is tossed in our house blended dressing with croutons. Our dressing has bit of anchovy paste. Drizzled with Ranch.

Brownies

Not just any brownie, it is panko crusted and deep fried. Served with jhomemade chipote mixed berries compote.

  • BY DEFAULT, Wings are served fried and tossed in the coating sauce. If you want sauce on side, please order NAKED wings.
